Endurance testing on SELECT hinges show they hold up to decades of heavy traffic.

Our SL11-HD concealed, geared continious hing surpassed more than 25,000,000 cycles in ANSI-approved, physical endurance testing at Architectural Testing, Inc. in St. Paul, Minn. That's 10 times beyond Grade 1 cycle count. The full mortise aluminum hinge was mounted to a standard FRP door to simulate a real-world situation. A piston initiated the door's open/close cycle 16,6000 times per day, around the cloock. In the real world, an entrance equipped with our hinge average 500,000 cycles per year would still be performing after 50 years!

What kind of damage did all those test cycles cause? A broken counter. Two worn out door closers. And no measurable change to the hinge.

In addition, a SELECT hinge even stood up to brutal Forced Entry and Ballistic Resistance testing by the U.S. Department of State to earn it's highest certification (PDF).
